The major difference between humans and Daeva is the "immortality" of the latter. A Daeva's appearance is permanently fixed to that at the moment of their Ascension, but upon the destruction of a Daeva's physical body, rather than dying, their soul returns to the Odyle flow while a new body is reconstructed, at which point they return to life. At this moment, the separated soul can immediately find its body and resurrect through a "Kibelisk" to which the soul is bound. However, were a Daeva to die in a place devoid of Odyle, or suffer an attack so powerful that the soul and body cannot be reunited, their soul will succumb to "extinction." Nevertheless, this practical immortality means the concept of an irreversible "death" remains hard to grasp for many Daeva.
