Palworld version & sources

Read where the catalog comes from, which game build it covers, and how to distinguish extracted facts from editorial guidance.

Official REST API is the wrong door

Dedicated servers expose `/v1/api/info` and `/v1/api/players` when RESTAPIEnabled is on. That is for admins. It does not list pals, quests, or NPC coordinates.

Extract the pak

Palworld packs static data into Pal-Windows.pak. This repo dumps those tables with PalExporter and a matching Mappings.usmap (see tools/extract/mappings/README.md), then builds an offline source database. Verified records are imported into PostgreSQL, which development and production pages read directly.

Quest flavor paragraphs and wiki walkthroughs are not facts you can copy. Titles, XP, and coordinates can be stated in original sentences.

Do not scrape the wiki as the catalog

palworld.wiki.gg is filled from the same dumps. Pulling their pages duplicates their pipeline, inherits share-alike on prose, and drifts when they lag a patch. Use the wiki to spot a missing id. Do not make it the source of truth.

What the website uses

Pal names, stats, recipes, quests and map records come from the extracted game data. The website reads the verified release from PostgreSQL. Offline database snapshots and generated catalogs support extraction checks; they are not served to visitors.

Party builds are not in the pak. They are your notes, saved in localStorage.
