Beginning of Purification: A ritual to face oneself Those wanting to become a formal priest must begin with self-purification. Those wishing to heal the world must first heal themselves. Deep within the heart of all people lies a shadow we all wish to ignore. Fear, regret, anger, loss, helplessness... They are never the weakness, but truths that have not yet been faced head-on. The ceremonial flame is set ablaze on the Purification Brazier. Upon the lighting of the flame you will face the shadow within yourself. That shadow could be a wound from the past, a deficiency in the present, or a trial to be faced in the future. This shadow cannot be faced alone. We are to face it together. The ritual becomes complete only when accompanied by the conviction and courage of those who participate. This ritual is a communal ritual. If you truly wish to follow the path of Zumion, do not hesitate to walk hand-in-hand with your brothers and sisters. Purification begins with being true to yourself.
