Aion 2 Closet and skins: collection points, stats and extraction

TL;DR

  • The Closet stores outfits separately from your gear, so you can wear any look over any equipment.
  • The first time you get a skin, it adds collection points to its category. Points raise a stat tied to that category, such as Bow damage for bow skins or Helmet defense for helmet skins.
  • Higher-grade skins give more points: 1 for Common up to 5 for Heroic. Weapon skins for other classes don't count.
  • You get skins by extracting them from gear with the Cube, or from the Shop. Extraction can fail, and the gear is gone either way.
  • Madsin's long-term title goal is Empty Closet, for 700 skins.

How the Closet works

The Closet holds every outfit you have unlocked. What you wear there only changes your look; your combat stats still come from your equipped gear. It opens through a main story quest:

FactionQuest that opens the Closet
ElyosQuest: Making Yourself Useful
AsmodianQuest: Prepare to Escape

To dye an outfit, select the equipped piece under Closet, Equip and click the palette icon. The game data allows three Closet presets.

Getting skins

SourceHow it works
Gear extractionIn the Cube, choose Extract on a piece of gear to register its skin. Extraction may fail, and the gear is used up either way
ShopThe game points to the Shop for unique outfits
CombinationRegister skins you don't need to combine them into a random new skin, for a Kina fee per grade (below)

Only extract pieces you are done with. The combination pages list the possible results.

Collection points and stats

The first time you get a skin, it adds collection points to its category. Duplicates add nothing.

Skin gradeCollection pointsCombination fee
Common1600 Kina
Rare21,000 Kina
Epic36,000 Kina
Unique430,000 Kina
Heroic5100,000 Kina

Each category raises one stat for that slot:

Skin categoryStat it raises
Armor (Helmet, Gloves, Boots and the other armor slots)Defense for that slot
Weapons (Greatsword, Sword, Dagger, Bow, Magicbook, Orb, Mace, Staff)Damage for that weapon type
Earring, NecklaceDamage and defense

The game says weapon skins of another class don't count toward your points. A Ranger gets nothing from Greatsword skins, so focus on your own weapon and on armor. Kanon's Handbook notes that the weapon bonus counts as attack, which Weapon Damage Boost then multiplies. That comes from testing on the Korean servers.

We don't show the exact amounts per point yet, because the game data stores them on a scale we haven't confirmed.

Skin sets and the Closet Effect

Outfits are grouped into skin sets, and collecting sets raises the level of your Closet Effect. The Closet Effect screen lists each effect with its duration and cooldown, and each skin set page lists its pieces.

Skin sets are different from equipment sets. Gear set bonuses come from the gear you wear, not from the Closet.

The Empty Closet title

Collecting skins also feeds titles. Madsin names Empty Closet as his special title to chase. The game files it under Other titles.

Creator tip

Your special title chase will be Empty Closet obtained by collecting 700 skins.
