CorpusAion 2

Overview

A ranged fire-and-ice glass cannon built around one charged nuke, Hellfire, and the cooldown cuts that bring it back sooner. Hard to play well and slow to start, it comes online once key skills reach rank 16, so it suits patient players who like learning boss patterns.

In the game's words

The Sorcerer is a powerful damage dealer who devastates foes with high-potency magic. Though such potent magic comes at the cost of lower HP and defense, they compensate with a variety of crowd-control skills, allowing them to neutralize approaching enemies before they become a threat.

What makes the Sorcerer tick

Keystone skill

Hellfire is the charged nuke the whole kit serves: Firestorm, Blaze, Flame Arrow and Wish of Concentration all work to bring it back sooner.

The rule

Never put Hellfire in a macro. Hold it to full charge by hand; a macro releases it after one charge for a fraction of the damage.

Opener
  1. Element Enhancement
  2. Delayed Explosion
  3. Winter's Shackles
  4. Fully charged Hellfire
  5. Firestorm right after, to cut Hellfire's cooldown

Use buffs as soon as they are ready, or hold them for Hellfire?

Use them when ready; do not wait for Hellfire

Wait the few seconds so buffs and Hellfire line up

What creators say

At rank 16 take the Specialty that cuts its cooldown by 15 seconds.

Prefer Ignores Block and Evasion with Multi-Hit over the fire damage over time, which bosses walk out of.

Stigma

The four damage Stigmas nearly every creator runs for dungeons and bosses.

  • Element Enhancement6 creatorsThe core buff. Put Stigma shards here first, to rank 15.
  • Delayed Explosion7 creatorsDebuff the boss before Hellfire; it also restores MP.
  • Fire Wall6 creatorsPlace it only on a boss that will stay put.
  • Cold Storm5 creatorsRank 5 adds Frostbite damage on hit, which multi-hit Firestorm and Bittercold Wind trigger often.
  • Divine BurstSkip it in PvE: groups rarely fail a Stagger check without it.

Slots open at levels 22, 27, 32 and 37. Take Element Enhancement first, then Delayed Explosion, Fire Wall and Cold Storm, each to rank 5 for its first bonus.

Journey

After level 45 your Item Level, which players also call gear score, decides what you can enter. Pick where you are.

What opens

Sorcerer priorities

Rank 16 on Wish of Concentration, Blaze and Flame Arrow is the power spike: together they loop cooldowns back into Hellfire.

Once Wish of Concentration is rank 16, cast it only after Hellfire and Firestorm are on cooldown, never with Hellfire nearly ready.

Gear for Combat Speed and Cooldown.

On Arcana, target Robe of Flame and the rank-16 skills: Flame Arrow, Blaze and Wish of Concentration.

Every class

Farm Vakron Sky Island before Urugugu Canyon: every Vakron armor drop is an upgrade, while Urugugu also drops other classes' weapons.

Hold pity selectors and Exploration chests until you know your last missing piece.

Fill all five Arcana slots as soon as Transcendence opens. For now, card grade matters more than which skills a card carries.

Party finders ask for Combat Power well above the minimum, so form your own group with a tank and a healer.

Item Level adds up from
  • Item levelsof what you wear
  • +1per enhancement level
  • +5per Amplify level
  • +1per Daevanion point
  • 1 to 4per Manastone line
  • +3per Rare Theostone

The Amplify, Manastone and Theostone amounts are measured on players' characters.

Stat nodes sit in the same places for every class. Each Active skill has one node on each of the first four boards; each Passive has two on Nezekan or Zikel and one each on Vaizel and Triniel. Azphel has stat nodes only.

Take Nezekan's Combat Speed and Cooldown lanes, then Zikel's Damage Boost, then your core skills' nodes on every board.

Skip multi-hit and crit lines early on.

Take a skill's node from whichever board has it closest to your lane.

Avoid crit and multi-hit resistance nodes; they are PvP stats.
