Aion 2 Sorcerer guide: playstyle, build and boards
NCSOFT / AION 2 official Steam screenshots
TL;DR
- Sorcerer is a ranged magic class that deals Fire and Water damage, with no positional requirement. Creators call it a glass cannon: high damage, little survivability.
- Your damage centres on Hellfire, a charge skill. Much of the rest of the kit exists to bring Hellfire back sooner.
- Creators rank it among the strongest PvE damage dealers, but also one of the hardest classes to play well. It leans on Combat Speed and Cooldown Reduction, which take gear to build.
- Keep your MP high. Robe of Earth and Grace of Enhancement only give their bonuses while your MP stays above a threshold.
- The macro handles the filler. Cast Hellfire and your cooldown reductions by hand.
Is Sorcerer right for you?
Pick Sorcerer if you want big ranged damage and a rotation where you are always choosing the next spell. Grobs describes it as the closest thing Aion 2 has to a traditional glass cannon mage: Fire handles steady damage, and Frost brings utility and some of the stronger burst.
Creator tip
It's not about spamming one main damage ability or waiting for a single self-buff. It's all about understanding how all your different spells interact and creating this continuous chain of abilities.
| Question | What creators say |
|---|---|
| Damage | Highest damage class in PvE (aLuckyRO) |
| Survivability | Struggles when another player gets on top of it (Grobs, Anders) |
| Difficulty | Top two hardest classes to do well on, and players expect high damage from a Sorcerer (SywoGG) |
| Fun | One of the most engaging classes to play (Kanon) |
| Global launch | Expected to start slower than on Korean servers (Anders, who mains Sorcerer) |
Creator tip
Sorcerer leans heavily on combat speed and cool down reduction and we just have fewer sources of offensive stats on global.
He adds that Sorcerer does best with a Chanter in the group. The Chanter's Power of the Storm gives party members 20% Combat Speed and 10% shorter skill cooldowns.
How Sorcerer plays
Your damage comes from a chain of skills that feed each other:
| Skill | What it does | Key specialty |
|---|---|---|
| Hellfire | Charge skill, three charge levels. Hits up to 4 enemies within 4m of the target. Your biggest hit | Has a mobile specialty |
| Firestorm | Main source of Hellfire cooldown reduction (Kanon) | Rank 12: -2s on Hellfire per fireball |
| Wish of Concentration | Raises your Attack | Rank 16: all cooldowns -10s |
| Blaze | Hits a Fire Mark target, restores 100 MP | Rank 16: -3s on Wish of Concentration per hit |
| Flame Arrow | Basic attack, restores 100 MP | None named |
Conditional Sorcerer skills
Creator tip
You wouldn't want to burn a 10-second cooldown reduction skill when your Hellfire has 2 seconds remaining. You'll definitely want to manually control that.
Hellfire is not mobile until you take its mobile specialty, so Kanon describes the class as fairly stationary early on. For defence you have Defiance and stigmas such as Hibernation, which makes you immune to damage and status effects for its duration.

Daevanion boards
Sorcerer has five boards. Each of the first four has one node for each of Sorcerer's twelve base active skills, so the boards add up to four ranks to every one of them.
| Board | Unlocks at | Crystals |
|---|---|---|
| Nezekan | Level 12 | Daevanion |
| Zikel | Level 20 | Daevanion |
| Vaizel | Level 30 | Daevanion |
| Triniel | Level 40 | Daevanion |
| Azphel (PvP) | Level 45 | Battle |
aLuckyRO starts with Combat Speed, Damage Boost, Cooldown Reduction and Critical Damage Boost, and skips the Multi-Hit nodes. The Sorcerer Daevanion guide shows his order on the live boards.
