Aion 2 Arena guide: 1v1 and 5v5 modes, rewards and ranks

TL;DR

  • The Arena has two ranked modes: Arena of Solitude (1v1) and Arena of Cooperation (5v5). Both unlock at level 45.
  • Neither mode is equalized. Your gear comes with you, so item level matters. For an even fight, play the Battlefield.
  • Every match pays Abyss Points: 300 for taking part and 500 for a win.
  • Each season ranks you from Bronze up to Challenger, and each tier has its own title.

The two Arena modes

The Arena opens from the main menu once you reach level 45. The same unlock also covers the Battlefield.

The win conditions and rewards come from the game data.

Anders adds detail from playing the 1v1 mode. The first player to win three rounds takes the match, and nothing resets between rounds. He describes the 5v5 mode as the same idea with a full party, and says it was not very popular either in his experience.

Gear decides a lot

Both Arena modes are ranked and not equalized. Your gear, stats and progression come with you. Grobs warns that Aion 2 stacks many percentage damage bonuses that multiply with each other, so the gap between a new player and a well-geared one gets very large.

Creator tip

And because most PvP content is not gear equalized, fighting somebody who is far ahead of you can feel extremely frustrating.

If you want PvP where item level does not decide the result, Anders points to the Battlefield, the one equalized mode at launch. The Battlefield guide covers it.

Which classes do well

Anders sees far more Templars, Assassins and Gladiators in the 1v1 queue than anything else. As a Sorcerer, he ranks 15th in his class on his server despite playing very few matches.

Creator tip

The mode is pretty unpopular for certain classes. You'll see a lot more Templars, assassins, and gladiators than anything else.

ClassCreator view
AssassinReally shines in PvP, the Arena included (Anders). Very dangerous in 1v1s and smaller fights, if you know your match-ups (Grobs)
RangerCan feel too squishy in the Arena early on, especially against Chanter and Templar (Anders)
SorcererVulnerable in Arena situations when someone gets on top of you (Anders)
ClericLacks reliable crowd control in 1v1s; group fights are a different story (Grobs)

Season ranks and titles

The Arena is seasonal, and each mode has its own ranking. Each tier unlocks a matching title, for example Arena of Solitude [Season 1] Gold.

Abyss Points from the Arena go into the same pool as your Abyss earnings. The Abyss guide lists what they buy, starting with Stigma Shards.
