How to Fish: Get the Lighthouse Keeper's boat keys

Quick steps

1. 1 Catch and defeat the Spider Crab

   Use the Empty Beer Can from the Keeper's first request to fish for the Spider Crab. Finish any active boss encounter first.

2. 2 Bring back one shell

   Pick up the Spider Crab Shell dropped by the boss and bring it to the Lighthouse Keeper for his Quest: boat-passage request.

3. 3 Take the boat keys

   Claim the keys he offers. This reward unlocks the boat; giving him the shell alone does not finish the exchange.

Killed the crab but still have no boat?

The Keeper accepts the Spider Crab Shell, so collect the drop after the fight. Bringing the crab's body or an ordinary crab will not satisfy this request.

Pick up the shell before handing it in. The Keeper only accepts items a player has held. If he is already offering keys, take them to unlock the boat.

Why isn't the Empty Beer Can catching the boss?

The Empty Beer Can cannot select another boss while a boss encounter is active. Finish that encounter before trying for the Spider Crab again. The can comes from the Beer request; it is not the reward for this shell hand-in.

How do you find another island?

The Keeper recommends using a Radar when you take the boat out. There is a Radar purchase point beside him; budget for it if you need one.

On Island 2, the Swamp Daughter can make the bait for the next boss. Her request starts with Leeches found on the ground.
