Aion 2 Ranger gear: sets, Soul Binding, Manastones and accuracy
NCSOFT / AION 2 official Steam screenshots
TL;DR
- FRESHY's Season 1 Ranger setup: Nuakum armor from Ferocious Horn Den and Enraged Kromede accessories from Fire Temple. For the bow, he prefers a crafted one over the Enraged Kromede Longbow.
- Enhance your bow and guard to +15 and everything else to about +10. +15 is the last enhancement level the game data records for this gear.
- Weapon and guard Soul Binding: Weapon Damage Boost, Combat Speed, Multi-hit Chance and Might. Rings carry your active skills, with Deadshot and Gale Arrow first.
- Accuracy is the next stat after those. If you are short on it, bosses parry your attacks.
- Manastones: get one good offensive line per piece and stop. Both creators warn against chasing perfect rolls.
Which gear to farm
FRESHY sees two routes for PvE: a full set of Expedition gear, or a full crafted set. He calls a full crafted set expensive and grindy, mostly for players pushing for the best gear. His Season 1 Ranger uses Expedition armor and accessories with a crafted bow.
Creator tip
You're farming Ferocious Horn Den for Nuakum gear. This is going to be the best non-crafted gear in season one on global.
The Nuakum pieces drop in Ferocious Horn Den on Easy, Normal and Hard. Abyssal Forge: Ludra also lists them. Every piece is item level 86 and needs level 45.

TheWhelps's endgame setup is close to this. He crafts his weapon, guard and accessories, takes bracelets from Ludra and wears dungeon armor. He also suggests crafting the armor if you want to min-max.
Bow and guard
FRESHY says the Enraged Kromede Longbow works, but he would rather craft the highest bow you can. All three bows roll the same Soul Binding stats.
| Bow | Source | Item level | Attack |
|---|---|---|---|
| Enraged Kromede Longbow | Fire Temple, Normal and Hard | 86 | 343 to 431 |
| Wise Dragon Lord Bow | Crafted, Light recipe | 94 | 375 to 472 |
| Ebony Dragon Lord Bow | Crafted, Dark recipe | 94 | 375 to 472 |
Each crafted line has a Splendent version at item level 102 that the recipe can produce as a combo result.

Enhancement targets
Enhancing uses Enhance Stone and Kina. For the Nuakum, Enraged Kromede and crafted pieces above, the data records enhancement up to +15. Past that, gear moves on to Amplify, which uses Amplify Stone (Unique).
Creator tip
For enhancement, I'd recommend getting your weapon and guard to plus 15, while keeping the rest of your armor and accessories around plus 10. That should be more than enough for Season 1 content and the early part of Season 2.
You do not lose that work when you upgrade. TheWhelps explains that a Gear Transfer to the new item carries the enhancement level and the Soul Binding lines, but not the Manastones. The data lists Transfer Stone (Unique) (Bound) as the material. This is why both creators save their best Manastones for final gear.
Soul Binding stats by slot
Soul Binding lines are random, and each slot can only roll certain stats. The lines each creator keeps, in the game's stat names:
| Slot | FRESHY | TheWhelps |
|---|---|---|
| Bow and guard | Weapon Damage Boost, Combat Speed, Multi-hit Chance, Might | Combat Speed, Weapon Damage Boost, Damage Boost, Might, then Multi-hit Chance on a crafted weapon |
| Helm | Incoming Heal | Double Chance, Attack increase |
| Pauldrons | Critical Damage Boost | Double Chance, Critical Damage Boost |
| Breastplate | Damage Boost | Damage Boost |
| Gloves | Combat Speed | Combat Speed |
| Greaves | Perfect Chance or Damage Tolerance | Attack increase, Damage Tolerance |
| Cloak | See below | Double Chance, Attack increase |
| Boots | Move Speed | Move Speed |
| Earrings | Four passive skills | Move Speed, Might |
| Necklace | Skills plus Attack or Critical Hit | Combat Speed, Might |
| Rings | Four active skills | Deadshot and Gale Arrow, then Drill Dart or Snipe |
FRESHY lists Perfect Chance or Damage Tolerance for the cloak as well as the greaves. The Nuakum Cloak cannot roll either one. Its percentage lines are Critical Damage Tolerance, Double Chance, Attack increase, Endurance and Status Effect Resist. Follow TheWhelps for that slot.
Attack increase is a percentage line and is not the same as Attack, the flat line. TheWhelps keeps the percentage version on the helm, greaves and cloak. For the remaining lines on armor, both creators fill with Attack and Critical Hit, and TheWhelps puts Accuracy ahead of them.
TheWhelps does not reroll armor unless a drop already has one of the key lines. Grab a better roll when it drops, especially Move Speed on boots.
Creator tip
Find a piece that has a move speed on it. So once a gear drops, it's going to have random four lines of soulbinds. Even if your boot is already plus 10, if you get a new boot that has move speed, extract that and put on the move speed one.
Skill lines on accessories and weapons
Soul Binding can also add +1 to a skill.
| Slots | Skill lines they roll |
|---|---|
| Rings, bow, guard | Ranger active skills. A ring holds up to four. |
| Earrings, necklace, armor | Ranger passive skills |
FRESHY suggests two active skills on the necklace, but in the data its skill lines are passives only, so put active skills on rings. Aim for passives such as Focused Eye, Hunter's Resolve and Concentrated Fire on the necklace and earrings.
TheWhelps uses both rings to push Deadshot and Gale Arrow toward rank 20, the rank that opens the third specialty slot. He only adds Drill Dart or Snipe if they can reach 20 as well. Otherwise he takes Might. He also counts a Focused Eye line on armor as worth about 20 Attack in his calculation.

Soul Fuse
The data lists a Soul Fuse option that adds one more slot and binds an effect to it, using Philosopher's Stone: Revelation (Bound). TheWhelps would take Attack in that slot on the weapon. He did not expect Philosopher's Stones in Season 1, and the data does not confirm when they are available.
Accuracy
Accuracy decides whether a boss can parry your hits. Grobs explains that the game compares your Accuracy with the enemy's Block, and a parry cuts the damage of that hit. TheWhelps makes Accuracy his second Soul Binding priority after the slot stats above.
Creator tip
If you don't have enough accuracy, your attacks are going to get parried.
Back attacks cannot be parried, according to both Grobs and TheWhelps. That is why Assassins worry less about Accuracy. Rangers attack from range and often from the front, so TheWhelps says they need it.
Ranger's fixed sources of Accuracy in the data:
| Source | Accuracy |
|---|---|
| Each bow above | 100 |
| Each guard above | 50 |
| Stigma Bow of Blessing | 100 |
| Passive Focused Eye | 100 |
| Nuakum pieces and Enraged Kromede accessories | Can roll an Accuracy line |
Creators have quoted Accuracy targets from the Korean and Taiwanese servers. Those numbers are not confirmed for global, so we leave them out. TheWhelps advises against dropping Accuracy rolls once you feel capped, because he expects the requirement to rise in later seasons.
Critical Hit works in a similar way, but TheWhelps finds it easier to reach on Ranger. Marking Shot grants Precision, which raises Critical Hit, and you keep it up for the whole fight.
Manastones
Manastones go into the Manastone slots on weapons, armor and accessories, and the stat on each one is random. A Superior Manastone can give Attack, Accuracy Bonus, Critical Hit, Damage Boost, Weapon Damage Boost, Critical Damage Boost, Front Attack Damage Boost or Back Attack Damage Boost, plus defensive lines. At Unique grade it gives 10 Attack or 1% on each of the damage boosts.
FRESHY wants at least one strong offensive line on every piece, such as Weapon Damage Boost, Front or Back Attack Damage Boost or Critical Damage Boost. The other lines can be lower grade.
Creator tip
Don't waste ridiculous amounts of resources trying to make every single Manastone perfect.
TheWhelps saves Superior Manastones for endgame gear. His order:
- Front or Back Attack Damage Boost, one direction across the whole set. He does not recommend building around it in Season 1, but keep a Back Attack roll if you get one.
- Attack.
- Weapon Damage Boost.
- Damage Boost.
- Critical Damage Boost.
High Accuracy and Critical Hit rolls are also worth keeping while you are below what your content needs.
Creator tip
But as an average player, I wouldn't worry about all these values. Just roll until you get at least one of these, like one yellow attack giving 10. Like I would just stop there.
