Aion 2 server list: how to pick a server, and server transfers

TL;DR
- Pick the region closest to you, then your faction, then a server. Each server holds only one faction.
- Keep your main and your alts on the same server. Grobs explains that much of what alts are good for is shared per server.
- Dungeons and other instanced content are cross-server, so friends on another server can still group with you there.
- Free server transfers within the same faction start on 14 October 2026. Advanced Access characters can only move between Advanced Access servers.
- Elyos and Asmodian servers are paired for the Abyss and other cross-faction modes, and NC will change the pairs over time.
Server lists and dates on this page are from NC's notices, as of 4 October 2026. NC adds servers when queues build, so check the official notices for the latest list.
How server selection works
- Choose a region.
- Choose a faction. Not sure? See Elyos or Asmodian.
- Choose a server from that region's list. A server holds either Elyos or Asmodians, never both.
Factions still meet. Each Elyos server is paired with an Asmodian server, and in the Abyss, Spacetime Rifts or another cross-faction mode, your enemies come from your paired server. NC says it will update the pairings periodically to keep the factions balanced, so your rival server can change.
Keep your characters together
Grobs's advice is to put your main and every alt on the same server, which also means the same faction. He says many benefits are shared between characters on one server. His example is the membership: buy it on one character and that server's other characters get it too.
Creator tip
Putting your alts on different servers would remove a lot of the reasons for having those alts in the first place. 100% keep them together.
Playing with friends on another server
NC's notices say all instanced content, including dungeons, is available cross-server. Grobs says your server and faction mainly matter for open-world content, PvP and your alts' progression.
If you cannot get onto your friends' server now, transfers give you a second chance.

Global launch servers
These are the pairs from NC's launch matchmaking notice, using the server names shown in the game. Servers marked AA are Advanced Access servers, which opened during Advanced Access (30 September to 4 October) for Founder's Pack owners and keep their own transfer rule. The rest opened for the 5 October launch.

Server names repeat across regions, but each region's servers are separate. A Siel character in Europe and a Siel character in NA East are on different servers.
