How to Fish Tuna guide: lure and Albatross bait

By CorpusPublished Written for v1.0.12

Dazed Games

Buy the Professional Boss Lure for $1,200 on Island 4 or 5. Its only catch is Tuna. Defeat the miniboss and keep its body for the Albatross encounter on Island 4. Selling or eating that Tuna means finding another one for the trigger.

Buy the boss lure, then prepare before casting

The $50 Professional Lure is a different purchase. Tuna has only one of its 78 catch-weight units, about 1.28%. Paying less for a cast can mean a long wait for the creature you need. The $1,200 boss lure removes that species-selection lottery.

Have your weapon ready and finish any active boss encounter first. The lure is consumed on use, so carry a replacement if you want another attempt. Check the boss-lure table for the earlier and later encounters.

How Tuna attacks

Tuna leaps and steers toward players while airborne. Its configured grounded approach force is zero, but collision damage still applies when its body hits a player. That difference does not establish a safe melee position.

Use a ranged weapon and leave room to move away from a leap. Avoid standing against the body while trying to finish a magazine. The attack controller periodically selects a nearby living player, so a teammate drawing attention does not guarantee you will stay untargeted. These are preparation choices based on its movement and contact-damage rules, not a tested fastest-kill route.

Tuna's base contact damage is 30 before difficulty and party scaling. Its contact-damage cooldown is one second; that is a limit on the damage check, not a promise that every collision arrives one second apart.

The equipment guide lists weapons available by Island 4. Dynamite can damage Tuna, but neither explosives nor a particular stack size are required to summon it.

Turn the body into the next encounter

Carry the defeated Tuna to the Albatross encounter area. Release it inside the area while no boss is active, then leave it unheld. Picking it up or moving it out interrupts the wait.

The Albatross guide covers the bird's attacks. After that fight, take the Albatross Head to the Seagull Keeper and claim Island 5 coordinates.

A Tuna kill also records its normal and Drip journal entries. You do not need a rare Drip Tuna for Fishipedia. Tuna is a miniboss, so killing it within ten seconds does not satisfy the main-boss requirement for Easy.
