How to Fish Fishipedia and Collector checklist

Collector requires a kill record for all 49 journal creatures. Fishipedia requires their Drip records too. Ordinary creatures need an actual Drip kill, while all 11 bosses and minibosses count for both versions when killed. Selling or eating a recorded body does not erase the entry.

Use the journal to find your gaps, then choose the bait below. These tables follow the game's journal exclusions. Seagull, Leech, Clam, Footsnail and Bing Bong are not extra completion targets.

A collection pass that avoids wasted purchases

1. Finish the main route and record the minibosses you missed. Each of those kills fills both journal versions.
2. Group missing ordinary creatures by bait. Keep fishing a pool while it still has several entries you need.
3. When only a few gaps remain, use each target's stronger pool. Standard Lure is better for Seahorse than Professional Lure.
4. Kill the catch and confirm the entry. Hooking a Drip creature that escapes alive does not secure its record.

All 38 ordinary journal creatures

"Selection share" means the creature's weight divided by that bait's total weight. The table chooses the largest share among the published player-accessible lure pools and rod defaults. It does not rank catches per minute. Every ordinary row also needs its separate Drip variant for Fishipedia.

Ham is the Crab-Fishing Rod's reusable default; French Fry is the Fishing Rod's default. The catalog's Nothing record is not a general 100% Cod shortcut, because an empty paid-bait selection uses the rod default. Beginner Lure is the verified targeting option listed here for Cod.

All 11 boss and miniboss journal creatures

Every kill in this table fills both the ordinary and Drip entry. The label "miniboss" matters for eating and the Easy achievement, but does not change that collection rule.

The boss-lure lookup gives prices and shop islands. Do not wait for a random Tuna or Blue Shark from an ordinary lure when the matching boss lure is available.

Rarest ordinary targets with their best bait

The long tail is Dripper and Voxelfish, followed by Bowlfish and Seahorse. The figures below combine each target's strongest pool with the separate 10% Drip roll for ordinary rod catches.

These are calculated expectations, not a guarantee or a count of landed fish. For Drip Dripper, the chance is 3/78 × 0.1, so the mean is about 260 selections. After 260 independent eligible selections, the chance of at least one is only about 63%. You can finish much earlier or still be missing it later.

A rare appearance in one pool can also be misleading. Seahorse is about 1.28% with Professional Lure but about 4.35% with Standard Lure. Tuna's rare ordinary-pool appearance is bypassed by its dedicated boss lure. Rank the target's usable options, not its smallest percentage anywhere in the data.

The journal still has a missing entry

Check the exact name first. Pike and The Old Pike are separate creatures. Dripper is a species name, not proof that a particular body is Drip. A main boss's trophy is not another journal creature.

Then check whether the creature died and whether the ordinary or Drip entry is missing. The record is saved when the death is processed; keeping every body in a pile is unnecessary. If previously recorded progress disappears after switching computers or saves, follow the save and Steam Cloud checks.
