How to Fish achievements: Bean and Handyman guide

For Bean, finish a fresh world's run within its first hour and complete the final interaction. For Handyman, weaken the final boss with your weapons, then land the killing blow with your bare hands. Version 1.0.12 checks the final low-damage hit; it does not track a fists-only fight. The details below combine the official achievement list with the extracted game logic.

The names below follow Steam. The checklist explains the actual trigger in this build, including requirements that the short Steam description leaves out.

This is a trigger checklist, not a claim that the achievements must be completed in this order. Quest hand-ins still matter for progression even where an achievement triggers at the boss's death. Follow the island progression guide to avoid leaving a required hand-in behind.

Bean uses the world's clock

Bean checks the saved world's accumulated playtime when the game finishes. Steam account hours are irrelevant. Saving and loading preserves the time already recorded in that world; reopening an old save does not start a new one-hour attempt. The host's world clock controls the completion check in multiplayer.

Killing the final boss is not the finish trigger. Leave time to complete the final interaction after the fight. The pause menu does not stop the world timer, so plan your route and equipment before starting an attempt.

A practical preparation sequence is to learn each island's required catch and hand-in, practice the bosses on an ordinary save, and decide who handles each job if playing together. Then start a new world for the timed run. This is preparation advice, not a tested sub-hour route or a promise that a particular team size is faster.

The versioned source checks the host's saved playtime at completion and sends the reward to connected players. Do not rely on joining a finished world afterward to trigger it.

Handyman needs the final hit

The final boss is Mutated Bowhead Whale. In 1.0.12, the achievement check requires the boss's health to have reached zero and the final hit to deal less than five damage. Normal punches on the active player character deal three damage, which fits that check.

Use ordinary weapons to reduce the boss's health, then stop shooting and finish with punches. In co-op, agree on the finishing player before the last few hits. Someone else's bullet can kill the boss before your punch lands.

Avoid one-shot mode for this attempt. It replaces normal punch damage with a value far above the achievement's threshold. The condition is also why a melee weapon is not automatically interchangeable with empty hands. These distinctions come from the final-boss and punch logic.

Collection, tricks and casino achievements

For Collector and Fishipedia, use the journal to find missing entries. Killing a boss or miniboss counts for its Drip entry without hunting for a separate rare version. A hooked creature that escapes alive has not completed its kill record. The Drip collection guide covers the rare ordinary fish.

For 360 no scope, spin before the killing shot and remain out of aim. The game's recognition window is short, so a spin followed by a long delay will not count. For Noob, avoid bonus-producing conditions such as headshots and no-scopes; an ordinary aimed body-shot kill is a more suitable attempt.

For Everyone's dream, target a seagull. Albatross is a separate boss and does not use the seagull check. For Easy, practice a main boss encounter; a quick miniboss kill does not meet the main-boss condition.

All in and GOLD GOLD GOLD come from separate machines. Roulette wagers item value, while the slot machine awards skins. Neither reward is guaranteed after a fixed number of attempts.
